Soft Client - eyePMedia SoftPhone

==== eyeP Media - Licensing ====

The eyeP Media softphone licensing scheme can be quite draconian. The license must be released from one PC so it is freed up in the eyeP Medida license server database before it can be installed on another. If the softphone is uninstalled or the original PC is unavailable (hard-drive formatted, etc.) the softphone license cannot be recovered or released from the orginal PC. This procedure describes how to free up the license so it can be reinstalled on a new PC.

1. You should download and install the eyeP Media softphone onto the new PC. This will give you an initial 30 day demo license to work with on the new system.

ftp://ftp.somedomain.com/eyepmedia/MGCPeyePPhoneDesktop.exe

2. Next step is to install the **MGCProtectme** tool. (New eyeP Media Procedure)

Please run this software on the new PC. It will generate a registration key-set which "e-ipbx" will send off to eyeP Media for the corresponding license keys sets.

ftp://ftp.somedomain.com/eyepmedia/ProtectMGCP.zip

In the above listed URL, you will find a tool to be used to generate a different type of license key-set:

- Unzip the file\\
- Run the file onto your PC\\
- Retrieve the two numbers displayed in the window
- Email the two numbers to support@somedomain.com

This action will locally and permanently register the softphone on the new PC once the new keys are entered.

3. We need both the original license, and the **MGCProtectme** key set for each PC using the softphone.

For example:
00000-00000-00000-00000-00000
and the **''MGCProtectme.exe''** output:
#00000 #00000

4. We need a letter from you stating that the software has been removed from the old PC before eyeP Media will regenerate a new license for the new PC.

After you send us that info, we will forward it to eyeP Media and wait for them to generate new key(s) based off of the **MGCProtectme** software keys that you forward to us. Normally the license transfer operation will work without this delay, but in this case the key apparently has not been released per the error message:

"the keys are already in use"
